BRITISH COLUMBIA REBATES

CleanBC Energy Savings Program

This program provides up to $9,500 in rebates for replacing windows and doors in eligible BC homes.

Eligibility:

  • U-factor ≤ 1.22 W/m²·K

  • Must separate heated/unheated spaces

  • Installed by a registered contractor

  • Product certified by CSA, Intertek, NFRC

Rebate:

  • Up to $950 per window/door, maximum $9,500

  • Bundle with other CleanBC rebates for up to $44,900

CleanBC Multi-Unit Residential Building (MURB) Retrofit Program

BC Hydro and the Province support whole-building upgrades for condos and apartments, including windows.

Eligibility:

  • Existing multi-unit buildings

Rebate:

  • Varies by scope; up to $17/sq ft, $500 per rough opening

CleanBC Rebates (with FortisBC & BC Hydro)

British Columbians (outside Vancouver) can claim rebates for new energy-efficient windows and doors.

Eligibility:

  • U-factor ≤ 1.22 W/m²·K

  • Products certified by CSA, Intertek, or NFRC

Alberta Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) – Residential

Alberta’s CEIP offers up to $50,000 in low-interest financing for energy efficiency upgrades, including windows and doors. Repayments are made through property taxes, and if you sell your property, the new owner assumes the balance.

Eligibility:

  • Must be ENERGY STAR certified or ENERGY STAR Most Efficient

  • For Edmonton and Leduc, windows/doors must be triple-pane

  • Must replace less-efficient units

  • Products and contractors must provide at least a 1-year warranty

Financing: Up to $50,000 per property

Banff makes it easy to save on energy upgrades after you buy. Rebates cover energy and water-saving improvements.

Eligibility:

  • Doors: ENERGY STAR certified

Rebate:

  • $100 per ENERGY STAR window

Medicine Hat Existing Homes Incentive Program

Medicine Hat’s HAT Smart provides tiered rebates for high-efficiency windows, doors, and sealed units.

Eligibility:

  • Window U-factor between 1.05 and 1.22 W/m²·K

  • Qualifies as an advanced sealed unit

Rebate:

  • $100 per energy-efficient door

  • $125 for U-factor 1.14–1.22

  • $150 for U-factor 1.05–1.13

  • Maximum rebate: $2,500

Canada Greener Homes Loan

While the grant is closed, the interest-free loan program continues, offering up to $40,000 for qualifying energy retrofits.

Eligibility:

Energy assessments before and after are required (up to $600 reimbursed). Northern and off-grid communities can receive an extra 30%.
