Cascadia Windows & Doors is proud to share that the Universal Series™ has been recognized as Jury’s Favorite in the Construction Product Design – Wall & Isolation Systems and Materials category at the 2025 BLT Built Design Awards.
The BLT Built Design Awards celebrate excellence in architecture, interior design, construction product design, and project management worldwide. Within the Construction Product Design division, entries are judged by an international panel of architects and design professionals based on innovation, functionality, aesthetics, durability, and environmental performance. The program highlights products that help shape the future of construction by improving energy efficiency, resilience, and occupant well-being.
The Universal Series™ represents a new standard in performance-driven fenestration. Designed and manufactured in North America, the line includes fiberglass-framed windows, doors, and unitized window wall systems that outperform traditional aluminum in thermal insulation, lifespan, and embodied carbon. Its patented pultruded fiberglass frame is nearly ten times stiffer than vinyl, enabling expansive glazing without sacrificing structural strength or thermal performance.
The system boasts AW, CW, LC, and R Performance Classes, achieving water resistance up to 15 PSF and U-values as low as 0.13. Available options include fixed, casement, awning, hopper, and tilt-turn windows, along with swing and sliding doors. The Universal Series™ also offers a variety of double and tripled glazed options to meet diverse project requirements, as well as Passive House (PHI and PHIUS) certified configurations.
With a modeled lifespan up to 80 years and 58 percent recycled content, the Universal Series™ is Red List Free, Energy Star qualified, and supported by a third-party Environmental Product Declaration. It enables design teams to meet aggressive energy performance targets while maintaining architectural flexibility and environmental responsibility.
